My students are inner city children with strong attitudes who don't seem to believe that they are worth investing in. My students live in a neighborhood that is poverty stricken and crime filled. They are children who don't always know how to act like children due to factors out of their control. My school is one of the most difficult schools in our school district. Our students are misunderstood, and not always given the benefit of the doubt. Most have very tough exterior walls built up around them, and it takes months to break through them. Once this happens you are amazed at the talent that lies underneath. They just need someone to show them time and love. My school has had a different principal every year for the last 4 years. In September we will have another new person coming in. Needless to say this does not help with school morale.
