There was so much excitement when we brought out the hoop, basketballs and stilts to the playground. Students immediately began practicing their dribbling, shooting and balancing. \r\n\r\nI have noticed an improvement in turn taking during recess and focus when we return to the classroom. Additionally, I have seen self esteem growing as the students become more skilled with stilt walking, layups, 3 pointers and dunks. In this unit, kindergarten students become meteorologists and are able to describe types of weather and its impact. Every year, I would ask if there was an extra one but to no avail. However, it stands at the right height and has additional outlets for the projector and my computer charger.
