Your generosity, books that might have lingered unused in teacher collections, are now freely available to students in cozy reading areas throughout the school. Now, not a single child will have to say, \"I don't have any books at home.\" Seeing them excitedly pick out new stories brings me back to my days as an AmeriCorps tutor, where I witnessed how reading can truly change lives.\r\n\r\nThese bookshelves are more than just furniture; they are little hubs of joy, curiosity, and connection. Kids get to share their favorite stories, explore new worlds, or even write a mini-review for the next readers, sparking a culture of reading that goes beyond the classroom. Writing this fills me with so much excitement and gratitude. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving our students the chance to take stories home and make them a part of their everyday lives.","fullyFundedDate":1742823935580,"projectUrl":"project/incorporating-equity-in-the-classroom/9036125/","projectTitle":"Incorporating Equity in the Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ginni","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9295797_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y504&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1697598995876","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9295797"},{"teacherId":9295797,"projectId":8270275,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support for our classroom bookshelf project! You have supported us and brought tremendous joy to the hearts of my students. With the beautiful new bookshelf now present in my classroom, I have been slowly eliminating the feeling of a sterile classroom environment and creating a place where my students want to read and journey through the stories they read each day. \r\n\r\nThis bookshelf has made the environment a lot more accessible. My students are more comfortable taking their time to find just the right book to share with their family and friends. Providing multiple areas where my students can find books has increased the time allocated for reading, but has also encouraged my students to create their own stories within their journal workshops and our final readers' theater performance at the end of the last school year. They were just the perfect level for my students to be able to decode the words and have the awesome feeling of success. One student even walked around the school finding adults to read to. She read to her kindergarten teacher, her first grade teacher, and even the Principal. She now identifies herself as being a \"reader\" and a \"smarty pants\".\r\n\r\nThanks again for your support.
