My students have some of the most intensive and diverse needs in the metro area. I work at a federal level 4 facility. Students come into this program when a traditional school program hasn't worked, and when they have exhausted the resources of their district. This sounds scary, but it just means that my learners need instruction that is individualized, classrooms that are small in class size, and teachers with a huge amount of love and patience. Many of my students are on the spectrum. Nearly all students in my room have a hard time sitting through classthey need to move, create, and explore. They also come from diverse backgrounds: some students have little to no food at home, some have houses that have an abundance, but they struggle with physical and mental limitations which make life incredibly difficult. Because of these strugglesmy students are some of the most resilient and adept students out there.
