Now, with our new replacement parts and USB audio adapters, every student can seamlessly access instructional videos and guided tutorials to support their independent learning without missing a beat. The students were incredibly excited to finally have reliable equipment—especially the audio adapters, which instantly solved their frustration of not being able to hear their interactive lessons. One student in particular, who previously struggled to stay focused when their workstation experienced technical issues, has completely turned things around now that they have a consistent, working setup to practice their digital skills. While our core curriculum provides a strong foundation, it does not always offer the hands-on extensions or creative outputs that many students need to fully grasp concepts. With the donated supplies, my students have been able to create posters, models, and interactive projects that demonstrate their understanding in a more authentic way. These opportunities allow students to process information, collaborate with peers, and communicate their thinking visually and verbally. It has transformed our classroom from one that simply follows a curriculum to one that expands on it, giving students the chance to truly engage with the content.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their reactions were immediate and genuine. There was excitement, gratitude, and, for many, a sense of relief. Access to basic supplies like pencils may seem small, but it removes a daily barrier that many of my students face. Instead of starting class feeling unprepared or worried about not having what they need, students were able to walk in ready to learn. That shift made a noticeable difference in their confidence and participation. The building materials added another layer of excitement, giving students something to look forward to and a reason to stay engaged throughout the lesson. It created a classroom environment where students felt supported, included, and motivated.\r\n\r\nThese resources have also improved the overall flow and culture of our classroom. With consistent access to materials, transitions are smoother, instruction is uninterrupted, and more time is spent on actual learning. I am able to focus on teaching and supporting students rather than managing missing supplies. This has helped create a more equitable learning environment where every student has the tools they need to succeed, regardless of their personal circumstances.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, my students will continue building on this integration of ELA and science by engaging in more complex, real-world problem-solving tasks. They will analyze informational texts, gather evidence, and apply their understanding through the engineering design process to create and improve their designs. They will also continue developing visual and hands-on projects that allow them to demonstrate mastery in multiple ways. The goal is to strengthen not only their academic skills, but also their ability to think critically, collaborate effectively, and clearly communicate their ideas.\r\n\r\nBecause of these resources, my students are not just completing assignments, they are experiencing learning in a way that is engaging, supportive, and empowering. Your generosity has helped remove barriers, increase confidence, and create opportunities for deeper, more meaningful learning that will stay with them far beyond this classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1768755276997,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-supplies-sbac-project-refres/10037391/","projectTitle":"Classroom Supplies & SBAC Project Refresh","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Washington","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10411094"},{"teacherId":9966837,"projectId":10051123,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support in providing tripods for our TV production class. Your generosity in donating snacks, fidgets, rhythm sticks, and weighted blankets is truly meaningful, and it will make a direct and lasting difference for the students we serve every day.\r\n\r\nIn a school counseling setting, students often come to us during moments when they are overwhelmed, anxious, or struggling to regulate their emotions. Having tools that help them feel safe, calm, and supported can make all the difference in how they process those moments. Because of your kindness, our counseling space is becoming a place where students can reset, refocus, and feel cared for.\r\n\r\nThe snacks you donated may seem simple, but they play an incredibly important role. Many students come to school without having eaten enough, or they may arrive at the counseling office during a difficult moment when hunger makes it harder for them to concentrate or regulate their feelings. Being able to offer a snack communicates care and compassion while helping meet a basic need so students can better engage in conversation and support.\r\n\r\nThe fidgets and rhythm sticks provide valuable sensory tools that help students manage stress and maintain focus. Many children regulate their emotions through movement and tactile experiences. When students have something safe and purposeful to hold or use, it often allows them to open up more easily and stay present in counseling sessions. These tools also support students who benefit from sensory input to help calm their bodies and minds.\r\n\r\nThe weighted blankets are especially meaningful additions to our counseling space. Weighted items provide gentle pressure that can help students feel grounded and secure. For children experiencing anxiety, emotional distress, or sensory challenges, this simple support can create a sense of calm that allows them to relax and feel safe enough to talk, process feelings, or simply take a moment to breathe.\r\n\r\nYour generosity helps create an environment where students know they are supported, valued, and understood. It allows the counseling office to be more than just a place students visit when something is wrong. Instead, it becomes a safe, welcoming space where students can learn coping skills, practice emotional regulation, and build resilience.\r\n\r\nEvery item you donated will be used with intention and care. Whether it's a student quietly using a fidget while sharing something difficult, a child calming under a weighted blanket after a tough day, or a small snack helping someone regain the energy to finish their school day, your kindness will be felt in countless small but powerful moments.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in the importance of student wellness and for investing in the emotional health of our school community. In a shared lab where multiple classes use the same keyboards, mice, and desks, keeping our equipment sanitized is absolutely crucial. Before diving into our daily exercises, each student now grabs a wipe to prep their workstation. Just yesterday, while we were collaborating on a programming project, it was wonderful to see them naturally taking responsibility for their shared tech without me even having to ask. It keeps the germs at bay and ensures our hardware stays in great shape for everyone.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, my 8th graders are starting a new unit focused on building interactive websites and expanding their coding skills.
