A student who struggles to understand fractions on paper, for example, will be able to use visual and interactive models to see how fractions work rather than relying only on written explanations. Students who need extra practice with basic facts will be able to practice independently while I provide individualized instruction to another student.\r\n\r\nThe technology will be especially meaningful for students who are hesitant to participate because they are afraid of making mistakes. They will have an opportunity to practice privately, receive immediate feedback, and try again. My goal is for students to experience more small successes in math, build confidence, and become more willing to take academic risks.\r\n\r\nFor my students, this project is not simply about having a new device.
