We have already used it to reduce time outside of class (no longer traveling to the library), and to create quick copies for students to peer edit each other's work. \r\nWe are lucky to have a laptop cart this year, but the work students have done on the laptops still needed to be printed through the library. Admin policies around time outside of class made this time consuming and inefficient. Now, we have paper copies of the work almost as soon as it's done, which is so much easier and maximizes the time we have to spend on peer editing and reviews. \r\nOur upcoming production of And, Scene is a group written play. These materials are physically small (batteries, feminine hygiene products, and granola bars, among others) but culturally huge. Several times per day, students will pause in my doorway, and respectfully ask for the supplies they need to do their best learning. Students who skipped breakfast or dinner will stop by for a snack to get them going through their classes, and consistently get excited when they realize I got \"the good bars\", which always makes me laugh. Tissues continue to be a resource that quickly gets consumed, but is always appreciated, especially as cold and flu season comes and goes. \r\nOur young ladies are able to use hygiene materials they need to take their mind off their body's needs, and re-focus on instruction. No need to awkwardly ask another student when their period takes them by surprise, or wait in line at the nurse's office. They are respectful toward the materials provided, and their section of the student supplies is always neat and orderly. \r\nFinally, the batteries used for student laptop mice are slowly but surely finding their way into the collective use by the classroom. As their teacher, I feel confident that I have a practical solution for an everyday hinderance, allowing me to get back to instruction without delay.
