One of our favorite moments is watching students work together to build towers, bridges, and creative designs, encouraging one another and celebrating their accomplishments.\r\nMy Students' Reaction\r\nWhen my students first saw the STEM building kits, their excitement was contagious! They couldn't wait to open the materials and start building. Their eyes lit up as they explored the different pieces and discovered all the possibilities. It was wonderful to see their curiosity, imagination, and enthusiasm come alive. These kits have given them an exciting new way to learn, play, and challenge themselves.\r\nOur Next Steps\r\nAs we continue exploring our STEM building kits, my students will be working on new building challenges that connect to our current classroom learning. The headphones also allow students to work at their own pace while accessing educational videos, reading supports, and individualized learning programs.\r\n\r\nIn addition, the headphones have improved classroom management by reducing overall noise levels and minimizing interruptions between groups. They have been especially helpful for students who benefit from auditory support, repeated directions, or simply a quieter learning experience. Getting the opportunity to work with a variety of different tools in different forms was interesting and helpful to the students since most of them had only seen the typical microscopes that most people are familiar with.\r\n\r\nThe students were very eager and jumped right in using the different microscopes and even acted as teachers to their peers as they figured out how to use these devices. The handheld microscopes allowed for more maneuverability and worked well in my classroom that has limited access to outlets. It also allowed every student to have a hands on experience with the microscopes.\r\n\r\nI would like to further expand on the activities we did with this perhaps even incorporating some live specimens (i.e. plant water, microbes) in future lessons.
