With the posters, calculators, colored pencils, and markers you provided, our learning environment has become more engaging, organized, and inspiring. The posters serve as daily visual reminders that reinforce key concepts and strategies, helping students stay connected to what they are learning. The calculators allow students to explore math in a more efficient and confident way, especially when working through multi-step problems. Meanwhile, the colored pencils and markers have brought creativity into our lessons, giving students the opportunity to express their thinking visually and make their work more meaningful.\r\n\r\nStudents have been excited about having access to these new materials. Something as simple as a fresh set of markers or colored pencils has made a big difference in their enthusiasm and pride in their work. They enjoy adding color, organizing their ideas, and creating projects that feel personal and engaging. The calculators have also sparked excitement, as students feel more independent and capable when solving challenging math problems.","fullyFundedDate":1768682724487,"projectUrl":"project/1-2-3-count-with-me/10028040/","projectTitle":"1, 2, 3 Count With Me","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Baack","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10269130"},{"teacherId":8130509,"projectId":10009275,"letterContent":"My students have been so excited to use the new resources in our classroom! One special moment was during our centers, especially at the paint center, where students were able to express their creativity while also building fine motor skills. During our literacy centers, students used the retell cards to sequence stories and practice comprehension, which led to great discussions and teamwork. In math and phonics, the glow boxes have been a huge hit—students love using them to explore numbers, letters, and sounds in a fun, hands-on way. I saw so much engagement—students who are usually hesitant were eager to participate and try new things.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reactions were priceless. There were lots of smiles, excitement, and curiosity. They couldn't wait to explore everything, especially the glow boxes, which immediately grabbed their attention. Many students began collaborating right away, sharing ideas and helping one another.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we'll continue using these resources to support our current lessons through centers, small group instruction, and independent practice. Our next steps include strengthening reading comprehension with retelling activities, building foundational math and phonics skills using the glow boxes, and continuing to develop fine motor and creative expression through the paint center. Simple tools like crayons, dry erase markers, and colored gel pens have sparked creativity and made learning more engaging and enjoyable. My students we ecstatic to see all the new amazing donations as each one came in and excited to learn how they are able to use them.\r\n\r\nThe addition of snacks has also been incredibly helpful, ensuring that students can stay energized and ready to learn throughout the day. Headsets for Chromebooks and Chromebook chargers have made a huge difference in supporting individualized learning, allowing students to fully participate in digital lessons without distractions or interruptions. As a veteran teacher I know the importance of having learning tools in the classroom. I also know the importance of trying new things.\r\n\r\nThe enrichment project consisted of items that fit into two categories. The first category is calculators. This one is straight forward. My school provides me with graphing calculators. However, when teaching PreAlgebra, graphing calculators can be an intimidating tool. I wanted a calculator I could use in the classroom that is simpler to use. I also wanted a calculator which was affordable and easily purchased at local stores should students want to purchase their own for consistency when working outside of the classroom. The calculators purchased through DonorsChoose fit both criteria, and I already see an increase in student confidence when using calculators as a tool.\r\n\r\nThe other category is individual whiteboards and accessories. I'll admit I'm still getting use to integrating them as part of my instruction. The students enjoy using the whiteboards, but it's been a challenge to get the students to use them for work and not doodling. The novelty is wearing off, which is a good thing because more and more students are focusing on using the whiteboards for mathematics, with of course still a little doodling at times.","fullyFundedDate":1768438497910,"projectUrl":"project/math-classroom-learning-enrichment-proje/10013149/","projectTitle":"Math Classroom Learning Enrichment Project","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Bzinak","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8229277"},{"teacherId":9123984,"projectId":9999002,"letterContent":"The Ozobots have allowed my kindergarten students to engage with foundational skills—like reading, writing, and problem-solving—in a hands-on and meaningful way. In our classroom, learning isn't just about worksheets; it's about exploration, creativity, and building real understanding.\r\n\r\nMany of us use technology at home, but in our classroom, technology is used as a tool for thinking. Students use Ozobots to build phonics patterns, follow coded paths for sight words, and even connect to early science and engineering concepts. This aligns with our curriculum focus on foundational skills like phonics, writing, and problem-solving . Instead of passively consuming technology, students are actively creating, testing, and revising—just like real engineers and thinkers.","fullyFundedDate":1768159715708,"projectUrl":"project/coding-thinking-using-ozobots-to-build/9999002/","projectTitle":"Coding Thinking: Using Ozobots to Build Reading Masters","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Alexander","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9123984_orig.png?crop=179,179,x0,y2&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754147685159","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9123984"},{"teacherId":9367137,"projectId":10010006,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for your donations. You have truly made their year! \r\n\r\nThe color printer ink has been such a blessing to receive. I have purchased my own ink previously because I truly believe that students deserve a colorful classroom. However, the costs have added up. To make color copies at printing places also costs an arm and a leg, so to have printer ink for my color printer has been amazing. Our state testing is coming up and I really wanted parents to help ease students' nerves with personal letters. I was able to print everything in color. I know this will help with my students when our testing day comes! I truly appreciate the generosity. My students are always so excited when our classroom is filled with color. The arrival of our new supplies has completely transformed the energy in our second-grade classroom! My students were beyond excited to unbox the rulers, student clocks, and dry erase boards. These tools have turned abstract concepts into hands-on discoveries. For instance, during our measurement unit, the children loved using their own rulers to find the length of everything in the room, and our \"telling time\" lessons have become much more interactive now that every child can manipulate their own individual clock to match the time on the board.\r\nIn our small group rotations, the impact of your gift is even more apparent. The folders have been a lifesaver for organization, allowing students to keep their personal progress trackers and center work neatly in one place. I have also been hard at work using the laminator to create durable, colorful math and literacy centers that will last for years to come. These laminated activities, paired with the dry erase boards and wipes, allow the kids to practice their phonics and math problems, erase their mistakes with a quick swipe, and try again without any fear of failure.\r\nSeeing the smiles on their faces and the increase in their confidence is truly heartwarming. Because of your support, my students have the high-quality resources they need to stay engaged and organized. My students are now using the hands-on games and manipulatives every day during small group instruction and math centers. One of our favorite activities has been using pop-it boards to practice addition and subtraction, students \"pop\" out each number as they solve, which helps them physically see and feel the math. During another lesson, we used dice and counters to build number sense, and I watched students who typically struggle begin to independently solve problems with confidence. These tools have made abstract concepts concrete, allowing my students to truly understand what they are learning.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. They were eager to explore, asking to use the games right away. What stood out most was their increased engagement, students who often hesitate during math were raising their hands, participating, and even asking for \"more math time.\" The games created a low-pressure environment where making mistakes felt okay, and learning became fun. Seeing their confidence grow has been one of the most rewarding parts of this experience.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we will continue using these resources to build foundational skills aligned to their IEP goals, including addition, subtraction, place value, and telling time. We are beginning to incorporate the games into partner work and small group rotations to strengthen collaboration and communication skills.
