At the beginning of this school year, we had a few students that were not able to function in their classrooms. In an effort to help them succeed, we created a full-day resource room. This is the first time that our elementary school has had a full-day resource room. We are lacking on the supplies, such as literacy and math activities, whiteboards, and more to help these students succeed. Our students are below grade level and with these supplies we will help these students learn how to read and count. We have chosen activities that will be fun and engaging. Our students have short attention spans so we need to mix up the different activities to keep them engaged. We really like the games with our students. They think they are having fun, but they will actually be learning.
