For example, the election issue arrived in January - long after it was helpful in teaching current events.\r\n\r\nI love Donors choose and I have always loved Scholastic News as a teaching tool with my 3rd graders. I'm disappointed that the magazines have not arrived like were ordered, paid for, and expected. Yes, I have the online portion, but for 3rd graders, having the magazine is critical in teaching hands-on reading skills. This project was written to use coloring tools with the physical magazines to have that practice of color-coding text. We just haven't been able to do that.\r\n\r\nThank you for your generous donations - I will continue to use what I can and hope that the next few months the magazine arrive as scheduled and we can finish the school year using all the wonderful resources that Scholastic has to offer.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nTh","fullyFundedDate":1723681440044,"projectUrl":"project/color-the-news-color-my-world/8451946/","projectTitle":"Color the News: Color My World","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Taylor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4955544_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1509888858498","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4955544"},{"teacherId":6002634,"projectId":7592469,"letterContent":"Adding a student check-in station has significantly improved the efficiency and organization of our library. By empowering students to check in their borrowed materials independently, we've streamlined the return process, reduced wait times, and ensured that books are readily available for others. This system has allowed students to own their library experience, fostering a sense of responsibility and self-reliance. With the automated check-in, I can dedicate more time to assisting students with book recommendations, research, and technology needs, creating a more personalized and supportive library environment.\r\n\r\nBeyond improving workflow, the check-in station has also enhanced students' digital literacy and problem-solving skills. Students learn to navigate the technology, follow procedures, and troubleshoot minor issues, which builds confidence and prepares them for future tech-based interactions. Additionally, the system provides real-time data on returns, helping me better track circulation trends and make informed decisions about the collection. The check-in station has transformed the library into a more efficient, student-centered space, allowing us to focus on what matters most: fostering a love for reading and learning. Each student wanted to take the moment to hang it on their chairs and place their journals inside. They knew this was a gift from wonderful donors and they said they would definitely take care of them for the rest of the school year.\r\n\r\nNow, when my students enter the classroom in the mornings, they can have a seat at their tables and reach back in their chair-buddy and take out their journal and begin to work, proudly.
