However, many of my students face challenges outside of school that can make it difficult to focus on learning. Something as simple as not having access to basic hygiene products or school supplies can impact a student's confidence, participation, and overall well-being.\r\n\r\nMiddle school is a time when students are developing their identities and self-confidence. When students know their basic needs are met, they are more likely to participate in class discussions, collaborate with peers, take academic risks, and focus on their education rather than worrying about unmet needs.\r\n\r\nOver the course of this school year, our classroom has become much more than a place for learning—it has become a trusted resource for students throughout the building. What started as a small collection of extra supplies has grown into a space where students know they can come when they need support. Students from other grade levels regularly stop by to ask for deodorant, socks, or other essentials. Teachers have also come to my classroom to pick up items for students in need when they notice a student struggling or lacking access to basic necessities.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful changes has been seeing students become comfortable enough to ask for feminine hygiene products without embarrassment. Rather than missing class, feeling anxious, or trying to navigate the situation alone, students know there is a safe and supportive place where they can access what they need with dignity. Watching students walk out feeling relieved, confident, and cared for is a reminder that these small items can have a significant impact.\r\n\r\nYour generosity will do more than provide supplies; it will send a powerful message to students that they are valued, supported, and worthy of care. By helping create a classroom environment where students can access essential resources with dignity, you are helping build confidence that extends far beyond the school day.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and for helping us create a classroom where every child has the opportunity to thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1756782195029,"projectUrl":"project/confidence-starts-with-care-classroom-/9658071/","projectTitle":"Confidence Starts with Care: Classroom & Hygiene Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Valencia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10228139_orig.png?crop=726,726,x198,y231&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756345799752","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-svalencia"},{"teacherId":5262090,"projectId":10082696,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for contributing to my project to bring a little creativity to our school library!
