The materials I am requesting will go towards creating a reading nook for my students in our classroom. A reading nook is a space in the classroom which is comfortable, has flexible seating, and books surrounding you. Having a reading nook will make reading a relaxed, yet fun experience for my students. Almost all of my students are reading below grade level, which causes students to dislike reading for leisure or academic purposes. My students will have the opportunity to read out of their desks in a comfy area in the classroom. A reading nook can help students curl up with a book and get lost in stories.
