My students need an iPad to access the math content and academic vocabulary. Many of my students are English Learners (ELs) and students with disabilities. These learners benefit from having access to instructional technology in the classroom that will support the content and academic language of math. The educational apps on the iPad will allow them to represent their work using visual models. Apps such as Google Translate will help my newcomer students to access the English math vocabulary so that they can complete word problems independently. Many of my students had formalized math courses in their home country but the English language vocabulary makes it more challenging for them to access the content.
