These resources have given students a shared language for their feelings and a safe space to talk openly about emotions, helping them feel seen, heard, and valued in our classrooms.\r\n\r\nAs students learn to recognize, name, and manage their emotions, we are seeing growth in essential social-emotional skills such as communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. Our nonverbal students are benefitting from the spot plushies as a concrete example of feelings as one student who was dysregulated grabbed the blue plush when asked how he was feeling. With improved emotional literacy, students are better equipped to navigate challenges, regulate their reactions, and show empathy toward others. We discssed character traits, setting and other parts of the plot as a class while we had fun reading.\r\n\r\nThe impact of this allowed for students to check out other books in a series and venture into reading chapter books more in the classroom.
