One of my students' favorite ways to target language and literacy lessons with answering varied \"wh\" questions is with the book Mrs. Wishy Washy's Farm and incorporating the farm animal toys that were donated. The materials have helped make lessons much more interactive, and my students are more eager to participate. Seeing their confidence grow and their skills increase while using our new materials has been so rewarding to watch. \r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their reactions were full of excitement and curiosity. Many of them wanted to touch and examine everything right away, and they were eager to start using them in our activities; especially the play food and pirate treasure chest toys that were donated. The visuals and hands-on elements helped capture their attention and made it easier for them to stay engaged during lessons. \r\n\r\nAs I move forward with my students, these resources will continue to support their work on developing stronger language and communication skills. Some next steps include using the materials during small-group activities where students will practice describing attributes, identifying story elements, and answering more complex questions about what they read or hear. These activities will help my students build their confidence in expressing their ideas and understanding stories more deeply. Students have been amazed by the options and how many snacks we have, and their faces always light up when I show them what they can choose from!
