Many of my students are just beginning their school lives. They are working really hard to make good choices, new friends and stay on track with learning expectations. The school provides many things that help to support their academic achievements but the supplies are lacking for the social emotional support, outdoor play and movement supplies. When asked, "what you did over the weekend", many of my students tell me that they stayed home and played video games or watched television. I want them to experience the outdoors with balls, hoops, childhood games and FUN! I remember back to elementary school and all of the fun I had at recess and I want to give that to my students. They all work so hard in the classroom, they should have time to be young children and move.
