Through the use of new equipment, the girls are able to level the playing field between their team and teams through more well-off programs and schools. The girls are able to see that they are worth quality and safe equipment. \r\nUsing these new materials, our flag football team will compete in the sport for the first year as an official state sport. Your donations helped in developing strong relationships with our students that are less likely to utilize our support. Having this incentive showed to students that we care and want each student to be successful. Students came to us more freely requesting help and receiving the help which was later rewarded with a snack. This also led to students coming to us to just say hi or check in and not asking for a snack.\r\n\r\nSome of our students struggle with their next meal. Having snacks available to them provided the peace of mind that they know where to get a snack to curb the grumbling of their stomachs so that they could focus on their work. A few parents reached out thanking us for doing this for their child as well.\r\n\r\nIt is great to know that this wonderful program is available to many teachers throughout our nation. Your kindness and support have made an incredible impact on my students' education, transforming the way they engage with lessons and interact with their peers.\r\nWhen I first introduced the stools, my students weren't sure what to expect. Some were skeptical about how different seating could influence their learning experience. However, it didn't take long for them to realize just how beneficial these stools truly are.\r\nOne of the biggest challenges in my classroom has been keeping students focused, especially during longer lessons that require deep thinking and discussion. Many of my students work overnight shifts in factories before coming to school, leaving them exhausted before the day even begins. Before receiving the Hokki stools, I often saw them struggling to stay engaged. Some would fidget in their chairs, others would zone out, and many would slouch in their seats, trying to stay awake. While these behaviors were completely understandable, they made it harder for students to fully participate and make the academic progress they needed.\r\nThe introduction of Hokki stools changed everything. These specially designed stools encourage slight movement, allowing students to shift their positions while still staying focused on the lesson. This small but significant feature has had a profound effect on my students. Instead of battling fatigue, they now have an outlet for their natural need to move, which helps them remain attentive and engaged.\r\nI've seen a remarkable transformation in participation. Students who once struggled to stay awake are now alert, actively contributing to discussions, and eager to engage with the material. They have always wanted to improve their education, but exhaustion from working third-shift jobs made it difficult. Now, they are not only making noticeable progress but also feeling more confident in academic discussions.\r\nBecause they are more engaged, the quality of classroom discussions has improved. Students are thinking more critically, responding more thoughtfully, and building on each other's ideas in ways that weren't happening as frequently before. It's inspiring to see them so immersed in their learning, and I truly believe that the Hokki stools have played a key role in fostering this shift.\r\nThe impact extends beyond discussions. My students are now more active in group work, more enthusiastic about collaborative projects, and more willing to participate in hands-on learning experiences. When students are physically comfortable and mentally engaged, they are more open to learning in new and exciting ways. The change in their attitudes toward classwork has been astonishing.\r\nBeyond their academic benefits, these stools have also brought unexpected excitement to the classroom. Initially hesitant, my students now rush in every day to claim a seat. It's become a friendly race to see who can get to class first and secure a Hokki stool for the period. This enthusiasm alone speaks volumes about their impact. When students are excited about something as simple as their seating, it sets a positive tone for the entire class and helps create a welcoming, engaging learning environment.\r\nThe only downside is I don't have enough stools for everyone. If I could, I would provide each and every student with one because I see firsthand how much they benefit. Having more stools would ensure that every student has the opportunity to experience these advantages daily, without worrying about who gets to class first. But even with the number we have now, the impact has been nothing short of incredible.\r\nYour donation has not only improved my classroom but has also reinforced the idea that a supportive community makes a world of difference in education. Knowing that there are people like you who care about students and their success is truly heartwarming. Your generosity is not just an investment in seating, it's an investment in the futures of these young learners.","fullyFundedDate":1732243818657,"projectUrl":"project/supporting-focused-learning-hokki-stool/8929564/","projectTitle":"Supporting Focused Learning: Hokki Stools for Hardworking English Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bowen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/pammiebowen"},{"teacherId":9020546,"projectId":8285593,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generosity in giving to my classroom.
