My students have been thrilled by the new toys for our free choice time. The marble run has become a class favorite for problem-solving and teamwork, and the play-doh has given students a fun, tactile way to explore ideas and express themselves. The Guess Who game is also a huge hit - they have gotten really good at coming up with helpful questions to ask, and are learning about animal features and habitats at the same time.\r\n\r\nThese materials have also helped us bring more art and creativity into our learning. The new painting tools have allowed students to add visual representations to their writing and science projects, turning our classroom into a space where creativity feels natural and encouraged. It has been wonderful to watch students light up when they realize that learning doesn't always happen with just pencils and paper.\r\n\r\nThe classroom basics you provided are used every single day. My students rely on the number lines during math lessons, and the dry erase markers make partner practice, small groups, and quick checks for understanding so much more engaging and efficient. Your generosity has truly enriched both our academic routines and our joyful, hands-on learning moments. Thank you for making our classroom a place where curiosity and creativity can thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1755700538949,"projectUrl":"project/learning-through-play-and-art/9581361/","projectTitle":"Learning Through Play and Art","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tuck","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2741012_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1539055601870","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2741012"},{"teacherId":5968157,"projectId":9710425,"letterContent":"The students at Hawthorne are loving the new rug in the library! When they first came in for library time, they were amazed at how beautiful and spacious it feels. The younger students love finding the spot with the letter of their first name, especially if it has a fun animal or picture that they can relate to. The older students immediately took off their shoes, saying it was too nice of a rug to step on with outside feet. \r\n\r\nThe new rug has increased traffic flow to the library, as more students come during recess and other break times to lounge on the rug with a good book. During robotics lessons, we've been sitting in a large circle around the rug for our lesson, and even though each student needs to share a square at this time, they are amazed at how much room they have on the rug, even when we're sitting around the edge. The new rug has been a lovely addition to the Hawthorne Library. I am so grateful for all the donors who helped to bring it to our space. In my classroom I let students check out books of their own choice from the class library, and it's so exciting the way they light up every time they notice new additions on the shelves. I use these books just for independent reading, which plays a huge role in helping students develop a genuine love of reading and discover stories that connect with them. The Bob Books have been especially helpful for my very beginning readers, giving them accessible, confidence-building texts they can feel successful with right away.\r\nIndependent reading is always one of my students' favorite parts of the day. They get to browse and select new books to keep in their book bags, choose a comfy spot to sit in (maybe a bean bag or scoop chair) and then just enjoy any book they want to read. Lately the Dragon Masters and Dog Man books have been the runaway favorites—students rush to check them out and are always trying to hunt down who has the one they want in their bag.\r\nI've also seen particular students blossom thanks to these new books. Some of my reluctant readers are reading more consistently because they finally have choices that match their interests, while others are excited to see that I have some more advanced chapter books instead of just picture books. Your generosity has made it possible for every child in our classroom to see themselves as a reader. Thank you for bringing so much excitement, confidence, and joy into our reading community.","fullyFundedDate":1627053815444,"projectUrl":"project/engaging-books-for-first-grade-readers/5646212/","projectTitle":"Engaging Books for First Grade Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tuck","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2741012_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1539055601870","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2741012"},{"teacherId":1058776,"projectId":9047542,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation!
