Every Friday kids answer a question in their journal by writing a sentence and drawing a picture. Then the journals go home and a special family member or friend answers the same question. On Monday, the journals come back to school and I read out loud each of the parent's answers and show their pictures.\r\n\r\nThe kids LOVE this activity! They are so proud of their parent's drawings and can't wait for their friends to see what they've written and drawn. I love it because I learn so much about my students and their families. It is a really special activity.\r\n\r\nThe journals that we use need to be both durable and designed for kindergarten students. I have found the perfect journals, but they are expensive! That's why I chose to ask for donations to purchase them this year.
