As the school year approaches I'm thinking of a way that would better my teaching practice online. I thought about using chart paper, but have figured from last year with distant learning that the kids are not able to see the lesson most of the time which caused great anxiety in the students. I recently read that "When students' social and emotional needs are met, they are primed for learning and show greater academic growth." A document camera allows for better visibility, which means my students will be engaged in the lesson and will be learning. Lessons to be taught using the document camera are math, science, reading and writing just to name a few. The STEAM KIT is going to be placed in the bags of materials that I will be sending home. In the bag I have personally bought crayons, markers and a few easy art kits. I'd like to add this airplane kit as well to deepen their love for STEAM.
