This project will help fund getting diverse books into our classroom. These books will allow my students to be more engaged and learn about people who are like them and also different than them. Students are more motivated to read and learn when the characters in books look like them. They become more engaged by reading about real people who look like them. These books will promote inclusion and show the beautiful multicultural world that we live in. The books will be used not only for read aloud but for response and discussion as well.
