Seeing their immediate excitement was a wonderful reminder of how much hands-on tools mean to learners who need to feel and move concepts to truly understand them.\r\n\r\nWe put the resources to work right away. The mobile dry-erase board has become the heart of our small group instruction—I can roll it right up to our table, write a learning target or model a problem at eye level, and then have students step up to draw out their own thinking. Just yesterday during a lesson on place value, a student who usually struggles with abstract numbers used the base-ten blocks alongside the board to build a number.
