The Lysol spray is really being used alot especially on Fridays. My routine is to wipe the desk with the Clorox Wipes and then spray it down with the Lysol Spray. It's so much fun to see them squeeze the plushy and exclaim how soft it is. I heard one student say it makes me sleepy as she smiled. The cereal bars and Cheez-its are the most popular snacks I have ever had in my classroom. \r\nThey were equally excited when they saw the spicy candies & store items!\r\nThey keep asking me when our next store day will be, because they are filled with enthusiasm & optimism for our next hands-on economics lesson. \r\nThey have been working hard for their store day and have shown excellent behavior. All students are incredibly grateful like me. I couldn't provide this experience on my own, so thank you. \r\nMy next step is to announce our store day and let them save up money through their math objectives. Take a look at the impact this gift had on my students! When they saw the boxes dropped off in our classroom, they all gathered with their scissors ready to open the packages. When we opened them up, they squealed in excitement, because they had been asking about these C.S. Lewis books. Independent reading in my classroom looks like students silently picking a cozy spot in the school and they get lost in their book. I tell my students all the time, \"form a movie in your head\" and they always tell me how their imagination takes them to their book. One student in particular is already reading the first book \"Prince Caspian\". We are so happy with these gifts, I couldn't upload the other books for some reason, but Refugee is our next read a loud book. We read as a class together for the last 25 minutes of the school day. They couldn't believe that someone had taken the time out of their day to buy them something like a snack. It sounds like a small gift, but it is far from that. It is a basic necessity, akin to food, that really dictates how a child behaves and acts in school, both emotionally and socially.
