Our classroom needs engaging Spanish books to encourage a passion for reading and to help strengthen students' literacy skills in their native language. Students LOVE the Piggy and Elephant books, but we don't have access to any of these titles in their native language. Other needs include books with strong girls as protagonists ("Me voy conmigo") and graphic novels that capture my students' artistic and literary imaginations. The look on a child's face when they find a book they truly love is one of pure joy, and your support of this project will help create that experience for kids. These books will be used to enhance independent reading time every day in our classroom. Fostering a lifelong love of reading in students is so important, and we can only do that by providing kids with interesting, fun and relevant texts.
