Our students have been excited to explore these new books, and it's been wonderful to see their enthusiasm grow!\r\n\r\nThe impact on their early reading experiences is remarkable — these books are helping to set them on the right track to becoming lifelong readers and learners. In today's technological world, children often miss out on the joy and experience of holding a real book and connecting with quality literature. This project helped us so much! Art is lots of things, and most of those require some kind of paper as the conduit for creativity.\r\n\r\nI always need paper, worry about paper, hoard paper! This project made me secure in the knowledge that I had enough paper to do all of the art lessons I had planned and not have to worry if I'd run out. That is such an amazing gift.\r\n\r\nThe children used some of this paper to make lovely spring art. The sketch paper is used for early finishers, so they can free draw and/or plan upcoming art projects. Each year, we start with a yarn art project in 5th grade for International Dot Day. This year, we got to use some of the special yarns that were included in this DonorsChoose project. The art was even more spectacular because they had such a great variety to choose from. Thanks to YOU!\r\nWe also are learning to crochet. So many of the students are interested in learning how to crochet and I am trying to teach them all in small batches. These yarns are so useful in teaching them yarn arts. They learn better when they select the yarn and are determined to complete their art project.\r\nFinally, my students are obsessed with anything jewelry. They love to use yarn to string beads and create friendship bracelets or simple necklaces. This yarn has given them so many beautiful choices!
