When students have access to a computer, they can jump right into their work, stay organized, and use different tools that keep them engaged. It also lets me mix things up with how I teach and give students more ways to practice and show what they know. Since more students now have a working device, we spend a lot less time dealing with tech issues and more time actually learning.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for students is honestly just having their own computer to use when they need it. Not having to wait, share, or miss out makes a big difference. They feel more independent and are more willing to participate and stay on task. One student in particular has really benefited—she wasn't able to get a district computer before, but now she can use one of the extras. She's been able to keep up with her work and feels a lot more confident being part of the class, which has been really great to see.","fullyFundedDate":1769177565831,"projectUrl":"project/resource-students/10014946/","projectTitle":"Resource Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. T","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10403145"},{"teacherId":9371847,"projectId":10017361,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom project. This immediate feedback builds confidence and encourages a growth mindset as they see that mistakes are part of learning. The patty paper has been especially valuable in helping students visualize transformations like reflections, rotations, and translations—concepts that can otherwise feel abstract.\r\n\r\nOur probability lessons have also been transformed. Using M&Ms and Skittles, along with calculators, students are collecting real data, calculating probabilities, and comparing theoretical and experimental results. These hands-on experiences make learning both fun and memorable, while deepening their understanding of key mathematical concepts.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, these supplies have helped create a classroom environment where students feel excited to participate, collaborate, and take risks in their learning.\r\n\r\nYour support has made math more accessible, interactive, and enjoyable for every student.\r\n\r\nThank you for making a lasting impact on our classroom. This microphone and the associated wireless microphones are of high quality and allow the students to have a more professional experience. \r\n\r\nFor our broadcast, students will often go out and get student perspectives on issues that affect our school. With a professional microphone, the students are taken seriously and they end up with quality audio that viewers can easily understand.\r\n\r\nStudents will also do remotes from other parts of the school, and again, it looks and sounds professional for our program to have a real microphone that records audio well.\r\n\r\nStudents are taking their audio recordings and putting them into our editing software to sync with the video. With funding difficulties in our district, it is tough to justify supplies in order to support culturally based projects. As a World Language Teacher, it is important to teach the students that language is so much more than the grammar they learn, but also the products, practices, and perspectives that make up a culture. \r\nMy Advanced Placement students were able to learn about the phenomena of the butterfly migration from Canada to Mexico. With the supplies, students were able to use the yarn and templates to make their own butterflies that are proudly displayed on the wall. They may have initiated a small class competition. My Spanish 2 students were able to practice conjugating imperfect verbs by using the conjugation clouds. They loved the colorful paper and string and thought is was definitely more interesting than boring worksheets. In addition, my Advanced Placement students were able to learn about the New Years tradition of the \"12 grapes\" and have the opportunity to write their hopes for the new year.\r\nAgain, I thank you for your support of ensuring that culture stays alive in the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1768621207894,"projectUrl":"project/butterflies-clouds-and-kites-oh-my/10017749/","projectTitle":"Butterflies, Clouds, and Kites Oh My!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kingman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7844832"},{"teacherId":8138078,"projectId":9992916,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom and helping bring AP World History to life for my students. It has truly made learning more accessible and less intimidating for many of them.\r\n\r\nI have especially noticed growth in students who need extra support. The rocking chair quickly became a cozy, calming space for reading and reflection. The xylophones sparked curiosity and joy, with students eager to explore sounds and rhythms together. Even the broom and dustpan brought a sense of responsibility and pride, as students were excited to help care for their classroom. The shake plate was especially fascinating—students were captivated by how it worked and couldn't wait to experiment with it.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, we are now able to take the next steps in an engaging classroom project focused on exploration and collaboration. Students will be using the xylophones to learn about patterns and sound, incorporating music into both math and creative expression. The graph paper has been especially helpful as students practice organizing their work and solving problems with fractions and multi-step equations. During one lesson, students used their notebooks and loose-leaf paper to show each step of their thinking while solving problems on graph paper, which helped them clearly line up their numbers and avoid common mistakes. The glue sticks have also been useful for interactive notebook activities, where students cut and glue notes and examples into their notebooks to create a reference they can return to throughout the unit.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were very excited. Many of them immediately noticed the fresh notebooks and supplies and were eager to start using them. Several students commented on how the graph paper made their work look \"neater\" and easier to follow. Having their own materials ready to use helped students feel more prepared and confident to participate in class activities and discussions.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue using these resources while working on problem-solving activities and collaborative lessons. We are currently building stronger math reasoning skills by showing and explaining our work, and the notebooks and paper allow students to keep track of their thinking over time. In upcoming lessons, students will work on more complex problems and small group activities where they will apply the strategies they have been practicing. These materials will continue to support their learning and help them stay organized as they build their math skills.","fullyFundedDate":1768521433576,"projectUrl":"project/math-minimums/10017545/","projectTitle":"Math Minimums","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Holyoak","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3650044_orig.jpg?crop=2237,2237,x312,y372&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1699906266005","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3650044"},{"teacherId":8138996,"projectId":10000621,"letterContent":"Thank you for your contribution to making our theatre program and classroom a more holistic and enriching space for young performers to work on their craft.
