My advisory was able to create some anti-hate speech posters with the art supplies. In math 8 and algebra 1, we have been using the rulers and markers and pencils like crazy! One of my favorite activities to do with the kids is a stained glass equation project where algebra students get to design and color in their own stained glass window, and then write the equations for all the lines they used. This year it was a big success! We will continue to use these wonderful resources throughout the year and we love having journals to write our thoughts and notes in, and we really appreciate the fact that there are people out there who are supporting us in our classroom. Thank you for thinking of us and supporting good hygiene! \r\n\r\nStudents with disabilities have lower rates of preventive dental care and poorer oral hygiene. Many experience dental anxiety and are more likely to need emergency dental care. Our college prep school encourages students to take music and dance classes through other organizations, but these activities are not built into every Student school day.\r\n\r\nWe activated a metronome from YouTube in our classroom, and the first time we practiced some basic rhythms as a group, students were hooked! The drums got their second use when students organized a demonstration, protesting, gun violence in America, and particularly gun violence in Oakland schools.\r\n\r\nYour support brought music and unity to our school community, and I am so thankful for your contribution. These whiteboards and markers have allowed students to feel more comfortable in trying out new things, because it feels lower stakes to erase on a whiteboard rather than erase a paper. This by far was one of the most fun projects that I have gotten to do with the kids. The best part was me being able to learn how to do some of these things with the children for the first time. It allowed us to be able to bond over crafting. Students enjoyed all the projects.
