These materials have allowed us to create more hands-on, engaging activities that support communication, social interaction, and attention. For example, during speech therapy, students are using visual supports, interactive games, and sensory-based materials to practice turn-taking, requesting, and staying engaged in structured activities.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were excited and immediately curious. Several students were eager to explore the new tools, and we noticed increased motivation and participation right away. Students who typically struggle to sustain attention were able to stay focused for longer periods, and students in the autism classroom showed more willingness to engage with peers and adults during activities.","fullyFundedDate":1704223428138,"projectUrl":"project/speech-therapy-we-do-more-than-just-tal/8123325/","projectTitle":"Speech Therapy: We Do More Than Just Talk","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Leslie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9423895_orig.jpg?crop=981,981,x0,y209&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1704219952114","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9423895"},{"teacherId":9370104,"projectId":9223591,"letterContent":"When the sharpeners and markers arrived, my students were so excited that several of them asked if we could start using them before the morning announcements even ended. The sharpeners immediately helped our routines feel calmer and more efficient. Instead of having to pause lessons to find a working pencil, students can quickly sharpen and stay engaged in their reading tasks. The bold markers have made a huge difference in our anchor charts, annotation posters, and small-group visuals — everything is easier for kids to see, follow, and reference.\r\nThese supplies have already supported multiple reading lessons, from character analysis to text evidence practice. Students love being able to color-code parts of the text, underline important vocabulary, and work together on group charts using markers that actually show up clearly. These small details have created big improvements in participation and confidence.\r\nWe are now using these materials as we begin our nonfiction unit, which includes comparing texts, identifying main idea, and supporting claims with details. Thank you so much for investing in students you've never met — your generosity genuinely shows up in our daily routines, our environment, and our learning.","fullyFundedDate":1746785580213,"projectUrl":"project/las-vegas-4th-grade-classroom-supplies/9223591/","projectTitle":"Las Vegas 4th Grade Classroom Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lopez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9370104"},{"teacherId":8110793,"projectId":8066540,"letterContent":"Our water fountain has been getting plenty of traffic since it was installed.
