Transitioning back into the classroom has been a challenge for many of my students. They struggle with mental health challenges that have impacted their participation in learning, which has lead to behaviors that are inconsistent with our school expectations. These SEL materials such as books and games will allow me to provide my students with evidence based lessons to support their overall social emotional well being. The SEL books and games will help my students to better comprehend their emotions, learn how to build relationship with their peers, and learn how to make good choices. The need for social emotional support has greatly increased due to the pandemic. My students are experiencing a sense of isolation and loss which is impacting their learning in the classroom With these social emotional lessons, my students will be equipped to deal with problems that affect them on a personal level, whether it be in the classroom or out in the community.
