This will help my second graders remember the skills I’m teaching. They refer to anchor charts daily during independent reading. They also use these anchor charts to review previously taught strategies for literacy, writing, and math. I also use these anchor charts to write our daily objectives for each subject. I illustrate and write important keywords related to the skills I want them to learn. Academic vocabulary is also included in my anchor charts so that my students can refer to them during math, text talk and group collaboration. With a high percentage of my class being English Language Learners, posting visuals and academic language is a must!
