I teach second grade at an elementary school in Nevada. I am also teaching Special Education students in my second grade classroom. Our school consists of primarily Spanish speaking students, with English being their second language. Many of our students are either living in "temporary" homes or considered homeless. Although we do have several families that have lived in the area for a long period of time, they are from low income homes and struggling to make "ends meet". Due to a language barrier and working families, parent involvement is scarce. This leaves teachers with very little support and limited donations from families. I love working with these students and can't imagine teaching anywhere else, however our funds are extremely limited.
