Thanks to your support of our project, \"Mindfulness Tools for Teens: Calm Room Upgrade\" our students now have an improved safe space to breathe, reflect and recharge.\r\n\r\nThe newly framed, encouraging posters have created an environment of warmth and acceptance. They serve as visual reminders that it is okay to take moments for oneself and that the Calm Room is a judgment-free zone where their mental health is valued. Small groups of students interested in exploring and cultivating their self-awareness and self-regulation skills are using the comfortable yoga mats as inviting spaces for physical and stress release through social-emotional learning strategies I facilitate. The Be Mindful Card Deck, Yoga Cards and Mindfulness Journals for Teens make mindfulness activities accessible and unintimidating for students; many are new to these evidence-based practices that increase body awareness and help them process their thoughts and feelings in healthy ways while navigating the pressures of high school life. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has shown our students that their needs are heard and valued, sending a powerful message of support that extends far beyond the walls of Carson High School.
