Because of your kindness, my students now have a warm, inviting space filled with engaging books where they can relax, explore stories, and strengthen their love of reading every single day.\r\n\r\nSince receiving these new resources, our classroom has transformed into an even more enthusiastic community of readers. Students use the book nook during independent reading time, partner reading activities, and small-group literacy lessons. One especially memorable moment happened during a reading activity. A student who had previously struggled to stay interested in reading eagerly shared a new favorite book with the class after spending time in the nook. Watching students gather around to listen and ask questions showed me how these resources are building both confidence and excitement for learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the book nook and new materials, their reactions were priceless. They gasped with excitement, immediately started browsing through the books, and could not wait to sit in the cozy reading area. Their enthusiasm reminded me how meaningful a welcoming learning environment can be for children.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, students will use the reading nook to support our upcoming literacy projects, including reading response journals, character studies, and collaborative storytelling activities. We are also beginning a genre exploration unit where students will discover new types of books and share recommendations with one another. The nook has already become a place where curiosity and imagination thrive, and I know it will continue inspiring meaningful learning experiences.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in my students and helping create a classroom where reading feels joyful and accessible to everyone. Your generosity has made a lasting impact, and we are truly grateful for your support.","fullyFundedDate":1770928407812,"projectUrl":"project/reading-book-nook/9852448/","projectTitle":"Reading Book Nook","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Anna-Marie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10326794"},{"teacherId":10315504,"projectId":9836980,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation towards my project! As well as creating the ability to work on expanding their spoken sentences to include colors and items. My students have enjoyed pretending to talk on the \"phone\" (alphabet mystery box), drink (\"milk\"), and make connections from the fake items to real-life items they see every day (the student put the fake milk and his real milk jug next to each other to show that they are the same). \r\n\r\nI hope that the students I have had the pleasure of working with this year continue to use their voice, whether verbally or through their AAC device. You have made learning in my classroom but fun and engaging. My students greatly appreciate the new materials and were very excited to use them! We did unboxing moments in the class as items came in and the students immediately wanted to start playing the literacy games and read the novels.\r\n Through the literacy games purchased, my students have had fun learning about idioms, figuring out meaning through context clues, and making inferences. Their favorite is the pirate themed Context Clues game and them will often read the context clues in their best pirate accent while playing. The \"I Survived\" series is fantastic for reading about historical events in a way that is more approachable for students. My class voted to start with the novel about the San Franciso Earthquake of 1906. While we haven't completed the book yet they have been amazed at what people lived through, and we have talked about what they can do in cases of a natural disaster. The three other titles in this series purchased through this campaign will carry us through this school year and into the next.\r\n Our plan is to increase the students' breath of knowledge through the games and books purchased and we can't thank you enough.
