Baking provided a perfect, kid-friendly way to help students understand how scientists and engineers test ideas, make predictions, and revise their work.\r\nWe asked for cupcake liners, measuring cups, and spatulas to bake cupcakes.\r\nWith these resources students were able to practice accurate measurement and compare quantities, learn how tools affect the design and outcome of a recipe, to connect math to real objects and ingredients. They worked collaboratively to solve problems, just like real bakers.\r\nYour support has helped transform our classroom into a mini kitchen lab, giving students the opportunity to experiment, create, and learn through hands-on experiences. Having an organized system in place has helped maximize instructional time and ensured that materials are easily accessible during small-group sessions.\r\n\r\nBy incorporating interactive and engaging activities, I have been able to create meaningful learning experiences that feel like play while still reinforcing essential reading skills. For example, during our Fun Friday activities, students played Jenga adapted with sight words, phonics patterns, and comprehension questions, making practice both fun and purposeful.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, I requested card storage boxes to better organize our existing games and task cards. These boxes have been extremely useful in keeping our card games and instructional materials neat, accessible, and easy to manage.\r\n\r\nTo further support my beginning readers' fluency development, I requested the K5 Reading Bundle. This resource has provided students with opportunities to practice reading authentic, uncontrolled text, helping them build confidence, improve fluency, and strengthen comprehension skills.
