The majority of our students are diverse learners and English language learners. When you are learning you need ample opportunity to express your ideas in multiple formats, not just words. Creativity is often an outlet to avoid academic frustration over language. Whenever students in my classroom are asked to express their thoughts and ideas, especially about a text, they are provided with multiple methods including speaking, writing, and illustrating. The Cricut would allow them various ways in which to present their thoughts visually.
