Although this donor's choose project was originally submitted to support an after school program at our school, I used the robots with all of our fourth and fifth graders during Library classes! I probably shouldn't be this surprised, but the printing quality and speed both have me shocked. I didn't realize a standard printer could print at such high resolution. My students noticed that red is now the right color.\r\nSo far we have used the color printer to print off decodabled, leveled readers for students to practice reading text with \"bossy e\" and digraphs. We've also used it to learn about the chicken life cycle and the apple life cycle. Of course we have much more fun in store.\r\nOne thing I especially love about the ecotank printer is that I can print seemingly endless items in color for my students and the ink simply doesn't get used up. With the new books added through this project, my students—many of whom speak Spanish as their first language—are more excited than ever to read. During independent reading time, students now have a wider variety of books to choose from, and it's been incredible to see how quickly they've connected with the new titles, particularly the \"La Novela Grafica\" series.\r\n\r\nThese books are helping us build key reading skills like identifying story elements, inferring character traits, and noticing how a story unfolds from beginning to end. Students are not only practicing these skills during reading conferences and discussions—they're also applying them independently, which shows just how much their confidence is growing.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting changes has been the energy around book choice.
