My students use it during science time to observe living things and learn about ecosystems, habitats, and responsibility. One project we recently started involves students keeping simple observation journals where they record the fish's behavior, what they notice about the water, and how the environment changes after feeding time. A special moment happened when a group of students noticed how the fish would gather near the top of the tank when it was time to eat. This sparked a wonderful conversation about animal behavior and how living things respond to routines and their environment.\r\nWhen the students first saw the fish tank, their reactions were filled with excitement and curiosity. Many of them gathered around the tank with big smiles, pointing out the colors of the fish and asking thoughtful questions about how we care for them. Some students were especially fascinated by the plants and rocks inside the tank and wanted to know how they helped the fish live comfortably. It was a great opportunity to talk about how all parts of a habitat work together to support life.\r\nMoving forward, our next steps are to continue using the tank as part of our science lessons on life cycles and ecosystems. Students will take turns helping with simple responsibilities such as feeding the fish and checking the tank during the week. We will also expand our observation journals by drawing the fish and labeling parts of their habitat. This project will help students build scientific thinking skills while also encouraging them to care for living things and take pride","fullyFundedDate":1766849380803,"projectUrl":"project/where-curiosity-swims-and-learning-grows/9828006/","projectTitle":"Where Curiosity Swims and Learning Grows","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Huff","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10308531_orig.png?crop=311,311,x780,y115&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1760311689920","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10308531"},{"teacherId":10280823,"projectId":9760506,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting my project. These physical resources make learning more interactive and meaningful as well as a great reference tool for decoding unfamiliar words. In addition, these resources helped create a classroom where students feel motivated and excited to learn. Your support also helps create an organized and efficient classroom. The organizational tools like file holders, drawer organizers, and a student supplies station allows me to stay prepared and minimize transition times, giving students more time to focus on reading and learning. \r\nThe students and I had a great time doing our daily \"unboxing\" as we picked one package a day to open if students had positive behavior.
