Students will enjoy an evening hosted by the GSA (gay/straight alliance) to show support and acceptance for all LGBTQ+ for Valentine's Day social event. This event will combat the harassment and marginalization of LGBTQ+ people in schools by sharing what it means to be in solidarity as a school community. Rather than make this dance the traditional formal or semi-formal event a typical date, the GSA would like to create a fun night filled with dancing, face painting, and flashy colors to celebrate an inclusive time for all regardless of sexual orientation, race, or cultural differences. To create this event, we need some help from all of you.
The GSA requests help with black sheets, we can paint inspirational messages with neon glow paint to cover the walls. Black lights and glow sticks will help create the club-like atmosphere of a rave - traditionally an energetic, all-inclusive night filled with fun for all. The final touch of individualism is with the glow in the dark face and body paint, allowing students to express themselves as the unique people they are!
