Thanks to your incredible generosity, we are fully stocked up for the upcoming year with essential health supplies like Clorox wipes, tissues, and hand sanitizer, which keeps our environment safe and ready for learning. The absolute highlight for my students, however, was seeing the brand-new sensory items added to our classroom sensory cart.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the room was buzzing with pure joy and curiosity. The students gathered around the boxes, and their eyes completely lit up as we unboxed the new tools. We have seamlessly integrated these tools directly into our academic groups, and it has been amazing to watch the kids take ownership of their own learning needs. A truly special milestone we reached recently is that the students are learning they can independently get up and use a sensory item without asking, as long as it is a \"good fit\" tool that helps them focus and doesn't distract themselves or their peers.\r\n\r\nSeeing a student quietly recognize they need a tool to focus, walk over to the cart during a reading or math group, and return to their seat ready to learn—all without interrupting the lesson—has been incredibly powerful. Moving forward, our next steps are to keep strengthening these self-regulation habits during our core academic subjects, helping the students identify exactly which tools work best for different types of tasks. Your support has not only made our classroom a cleaner, healthier space, but it has also given my students the independence and confidence they need to succeed. The impact of your gift has been immediate and truly wonderful. My students absolutely love the new games; they have transformed our lessons and Friday Fun Game Day into something they eagerly look forward to. I've seen significant engagement as they work on phonics, sight words, and reading comprehension in a fun, pressure-free environment. The hands-on, engaging nature of these resources has been instrumental in boosting their confidence and making the abstract concepts of reading feel tangible and exciting.\r\n\r\nWhat's more, several of the tools and games you donated have been adapted into \"take-home\" activities, allowing our students to extend their practice and reinforce their learning outside of school hours. This continuity of practice is vital for closing reading gaps, and we are already seeing the positive effects in their classroom performance and enthusiasm for reading. Knowing that they are supported by such a thoughtful member of the community makes this work even more fulfilling. Thank you again for investing in their literacy journey; your kindness is helping these young learners build the foundation for a lifetime of successful reading.","fullyFundedDate":1756309219833,"projectUrl":"project/phonics-fun-in-reading-intervention/9324939/","projectTitle":"Phonics Fun in Reading Intervention","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lemke","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4824597_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746526998345","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4824597"},{"teacherId":6382639,"projectId":9313969,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of fidget tools, timers, and sensory items. We have already put them to wonderful use! Some of the tools have been added into student break boxes, so kids can choose something that helps them calm down and refocus when they need a moment. We also created a sensory area in our classroom with some of the items. It's a cozy space where students can take a break, use the fidgets, explore the sensory items, and practice self-regulation.\r\n\r\nThe kids absolutely love having these choices available. The timers are helping them manage breaks, and the fidgets and sensory items are giving them healthy ways to ease anxiety and regain focus.
