I am always striving to improve my students' attentiveness by using a variety of instructional approaches, especially those that actively engage students. Having bouncy bands that attach directly to my students' desks and cushion seats filled with small beads, will give my students an opportunity to have their feet and seats stimulated as they are learning at their desks. The great thing about the bands and cushions is that they give the student an opportunity to move while learning, but they don't distract the class. They are low profile and quiet. Staying focused takes a lot of work. I am confident that having these supports in our classroom will enable students to listen and attend better. When their emotional and sensory distractions are reduced, children will be better able to reach their full potential as learners.
