Students have been using the ramps to investigate motion, test predictions, and work collaboratively to design different ramp setups. One especially exciting moment was watching small groups create their own \"ramp courses\" using balls and toy cars. Students experimented with changing the height and angle of the ramps, then discussed why some objects moved faster or farther than others. It was incredible to see their excitement as they tested ideas, made adjustments, and celebrated successful designs together.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were thrilled. Many immediately began brainstorming ways to connect the ramps and asking questions about what they could test. The energy and curiosity were contagious. Even students who are sometimes hesitant during traditional classroom lessons eagerly joined in, worked with classmates, and stayed engaged for long periods of time.\r\n\r\nThese ramps have become a meaningful part of our STEM learning, and we are excited to continue building on these experiences. Our next steps include having students design more complex ramp systems, make predictions before testing, and record observations like distance, speed, and movement patterns. We are also beginning to connect our outdoor investigations to classroom science discussions about force and motion. The kids were excited, but more than that, their builds started lasting longer and becoming more detailed. Instead of starting over every time something got bumped, they were able to keep working, add on, and really think through what they were building.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching a group create a small \"town\" that stayed set up for days. They kept coming back to it, adding buildings, fixing things, and talking through their ideas together. It turned into more than just building—it became collaboration, problem-solving, and a lot of pride in their work.\r\n\r\nThese base plates have made a big difference in how students approach building. They're more thoughtful, more patient, and more willing to improve their ideas instead of giving up. Next, we're going to start connecting this to our science time by focusing on building stronger structures and thinking about stability and design.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible. It kept falling, but they didn't give up—they kept adjusting and talking through what might work better until they finally figured it out. Watching that kind of persistence and teamwork was exactly what I had hoped these materials would bring out.\r\n\r\nSince then, these bricks have become something we use often. Students are more willing to try new ideas, work together, and stick with something even when it's challenging. Moving forward, we'll be connecting this more to our science and STEM time, focusing on building stronger structures and thinking about how and why things work.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this possible. One of our favorite moments was when students first opened the set—they immediately started building gardens, farms, and \"plant homes,\" and the room filled with conversations about roots, stems, sunlight, and water. It was amazing to see how quickly they connected their play to what we've been learning in science.\r\n\r\nRight now, we are using the materials to build models of plant and different types of plant environments. Students are working in small groups to design and explain their creations, and they are really practicing how to think like scientists while also being creative. There was a lot of \"Can we try this?\" and \"Look what I made!\" right away, which was really fun to see. It's been great watching students who don't always jump right into activities suddenly become very engaged and confident when they're building and problem-solving.\r\n\r\nRight now, we are continuing to use these resources during creative thinking and STEM-style activities where students plan, build, test, and improve their designs. The next step is for students to work more independently and in small groups to complete more complex challenges, where they'll have to think through problems, collaborate, and explain their thinking. Your generosity has made a meaningful impact in our classroom, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.\r\n\r\nThe filament you provided for our 3D printer has allowed our students to experience technology in a hands-on and exciting way. While many students are familiar with technology at home, seeing how it can be used to design and create real objects at school has been eye-opening. Our students are learning that technology is not just for consuming information—it can also be used to invent, build, and solve problems.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting things for students has been using the 3D printer to create fidgets that they can earn by trading in their \"Blue Paw\" tickets. These fidgets have been a huge hit! Students are highly motivated to earn their tickets, and it has created a positive connection between good choices and a tangible reward that they helped bring to life through our classroom technology.\r\n\r\nMany students are especially fascinated by the 3D printer itself. They love watching it work layer by layer as it slowly turns filament into a finished object. It's common to see students completely absorbed while observing the printer in action, asking questions about how it works, the different filament colors, and how designs become real objects. Their curiosity and excitement have sparked many conversations about engineering, design, and how things are made.\r\n\r\nSome students who benefit most from the fidgets are those who need a little extra support with focus or regulation. Knowing they can earn a fidget has been incredibly motivating, and the fact that it was created right in our classroom makes it even more special.\r\n\r\nYour donation has not only provided supplies—it has sparked curiosity, creativity, and excitement about technology and design in our classroom.
