We use the new headphones every single day to support independent and differentiated learning on our classroom computers. Students are able to work at their own pace, listen to reading passages, and complete assignments without distractions. This has been especially powerful for meeting students where they are and helping them build confidence as readers.\r\n\r\nWhen the supplies first arrived, my students were so excited—especially about the headphones! They couldn't wait to try them out and immediately asked when they could use them during centers. The erasers have also become an important part of our writing time. They may seem simple, but they represent something big in our classroom: students are taking risks in their writing, revising their work, and learning that mistakes are part of the process.\r\n\r\nThe chart paper has helped elevate our whole-group learning. We now create anchor charts together that capture our thinking, strategies, and learning goals. These charts stay up in the room and students regularly refer back to them during reading and writing time, which has really strengthened their independence and confidence.\r\n\r\nNext, we are using these resources to dive deeper into our current literacy units. Students are working on improving their reading comprehension and writing longer, more detailed responses. The headphones support small-group and independent work, while our anchor charts guide our discussions and writing. Because of you, our classroom is more organized, more focused, and more excited about learning every day.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the tools they need to succeed—your support truly makes a lasting difference in our classroom. 💙","fullyFundedDate":1761115638481,"projectUrl":"project/write-listen-learn-daily-supplies-for/9803832/","projectTitle":"Write, Listen, Learn: Daily Supplies for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hawkins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7127574_orig.png?crop=256,256,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1767893446727","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-hawkins-oves"},{"teacherId":642686,"projectId":9919956,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donations that have made these materials possible! We opened up the packages and my third graders were so excited to see games to play with! Now they chose to PLAY during indoor recess instead of play on their devices. The headphones allow students to focus more effectively during independent reading, writing, and listening activities by reducing classroom distractions. This is especially helpful during online programs, audio stories, and digital assessments, where clear sound supports comprehension and accuracy.\r\n\r\nIn ELA instruction, headphones give students greater access to differentiated learning. Students can listen to audiobooks, hear directions read aloud, and replay lessons at their own pace, which supports diverse learning needs, including English language learners and students who benefit from additional reading support. This increased accessibility helps build confidence, improves reading fluency, and encourages independent learning.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the donation promotes equity in the classroom by ensuring all students have the tools they need to succeed, regardless of personal resources. With headphones readily available, instructional time is used more efficiently, transitions are smoother, and students remain more engaged. Overall, the donation has enhanced the quality of ELA instruction, supports student achievement, and creates a more focused and inclusive learning environment.
