Who are my students? This is a hard question to narrow down. I have a room of sports stars, actresses, dreamers, inventors, creators, and thinkers. They are amazing boys and girls who LOVE to read. There are several places a student can get books, but unfortunately, these are shared throughout the school. My students are avid readers. They love their Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) time. This is my third year teaching, and my first year in third grade. As a former first grade teacher, I don't have many books on a third grade level. With so many of them advancing from beginning readers, they are devouring anything they can get their hands on. It’s amazing to see them so entranced by a story I have to say their name a couple of times to get their attention. While this may be frustrating to some, I think it’s beautiful to see. The more they read, the more they will expand their horizons and become greater stars, actresses, dreamers, inventors, creators, and most importantly, thinkers.
