This project allowed my students more options to get some sensory input when they are participating in my sensory room. For students with disabilities, sensory input and sensory items can help students focus and regulate, which are two very important skills to have at school. My students continue to get excited about the sensory materials received from this project, even a couple of years later. The students have been excited to read some new books during English and have enjoyed the interactive activities that I was able to get from Teachers Pay Teachers. The students were absolutely thrilled—especially when they saw the drums! Thanks to this generous grant, we now have a wonderful collection that includes drums, tambourines, triangles, musical bells, and jingle bells that can be worn on wrists or ankles. \r\n\r\nWe primarily use these instruments during brain breaks, either midday or at the end of the day. These moments are more than just fun—they're powerful learning experiences. As students play, they're not only building musical skills like rhythm and coordination, but also strengthening neural connections and developing essential social skills.\r\n\r\nMy hope is that these joyful experiences spark a lifelong love of music and inspire students to explore other instruments as new opportunities arise. This grant has truly made a lasting impact—thank you for helping us bring music, movement, and meaningful learning into our classroom!","fullyFundedDate":1755698138302,"projectUrl":"project/a-more-musical-classroom/9611821/","projectTitle":"A More Musical Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Buck","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4928496_orig.jpg?crop=136,136,x0,y24&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755361488834","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4928496"},{"teacherId":3064235,"projectId":9707477,"letterContent":"A huge, enthusiastic thank you for funding our Donor's Choose project! Thanks to your incredible generosity, our classroom now has a state-of-the-art Bambu Lab 3D Printer and a fantastic supply of filament!\r\n\r\nThis technology has been a game-changer, bringing abstract concepts to life in ways textbooks never could. Many donors use technology at home, but in our classroom, the 3D printer is a powerful tool helping students learn design thinking, problem-solving, and engineering principles hands-on. They're not just reading about structures; they're designing and printing them. They're not just imagining solutions; they're creating physical prototypes. This literally makes their learning tangible!\r\n\r\nThank you for bringing this cutting-edge tool and a world of possibilities to our students. Your incredible generosity through Donor's Choose has brought two wonderfully impactful additions to our classroom: beautiful new bookshelves and a much-needed student mailbox system.\r\n\r\nWhen I started this project, my goal was to create an even more organized, engaging, and welcoming space for my students. Thanks to you, that goal is now a vibrant reality!\r\n\r\nOur old bookshelves were overflowing and starting to show their age, making it hard for students to see and choose books independently. Now, with our new bookshelves, our classroom library is transformed! Students can easily browse titles, discover new authors, and access a wider variety of reading materials. I can already see their excitement as they carefully select books, and it warms my heart to know they have such inviting spaces to explore the magic of reading. These shelves aren't just for books; they're holding worlds of adventure, knowledge, and imagination.\r\n\r\nAnd the student mailbox system – what a game-changer! Before, papers, assignments, and important notices sometimes got misplaced, causing frustration for both me and my students. This new system provides each child with their own dedicated space, fostering responsibility and helping them stay organized. It's a small change with a huge impact on our daily routines and overall classroom efficiency. Students are already taking pride in checking their \"mail\" and keeping their work in order!\r\n\r\nThese resources might seem simple, but they make a profound difference in the daily learning experience of my fourth grade students. They help create a calm, orderly, and resource-rich environment where every child feels supported and can thrive.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our classroom and for investing in the future of these young learners. Your kindness has a lasting ripple effect, nurturing not just academic growth but also a love for learning and a sense of community.","fullyFundedDate":1755735844957,"projectUrl":"project/shelving-for-success/9405104/","projectTitle":"Shelving for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Curneal","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3064235_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1448657763586","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3064235"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_42895","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":497,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":27,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":84,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.7,"schoolId":42895,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Green Acres Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Green Acres Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/weber-school-district/green-acres-elementary-school/42895"}
