When my students first saw the supplies, particularly the witch fingers, mirrors, pillows, Brainflakes, and giant sticky notes, their excitement was contagious. They were eager to try out each item. We use the witch fingers to follow along in text when working in small groups. The white boards have been amazing to practice writing while also maintaining good handwriting. My students love to settle into the reading corner with a pillow and their favorite book, or to build something amazing with the Brainflakes during free time, which encourages team work and creativity. \r\n\r\nThe giant sticky notes have been perfect for group brainstorming, particularly during math. Students work in partners to solve word problems and then we do gallery walks to compare ideas and strategies. Looking ahead, we plan to use the spinners and erase pouches for interactive math/phonics games and small group activities, allowing students to collaborate and practice new skills in engaging ways. Up until now there has been some sadness over the scratches in the boards we had to use and share as well as frustration that they had to use paper towels or the floor to erase them!
