Reading is a huge foundation that is built in first grade. Having plenty of books for students to read and choose from is a basis for a successful year of learning. As a first year teacher, I have lots of chapter books, but not nearly enough picture books for my students. The reading material I am requesting in this project are books on kindness, Caldecott award winning books, in addition to some first grade favorites. Please help my class have a great year with lots of enriching learning material. I know my students will grow their literacy skills when they are exposed to more reading material that they can work towards understanding.
