It has been such a rewarding process in teaching the students ukulele. Sadly, it seems that each year at least one ukulele goes down. This year is no exception. So it will be thrilling to have all the tools available to save the ones that are able to be fixed. I am excited to add ukulele technician to my list of accomplishments. \r\n\r\nTuning the ukuleles has taken me so much time each morning to make sure that we were able to start our classes with the best possible sound. The new electronic tuner is magic! Simply magic! It is so fast and accurate. The students have been enchanted by seeing what it can do as well. I cannot wait to see the difference it will make in time savings. As everyone knows, time is precious as a teacher. Thank you for understanding and supporting all that you have.\r\n\r\nFinally, the new ukuleles themselves are appreciated more than you know. This is the first year that a ukulele has been broken beyond repair and I was devastated. I had no words when the student brought it to me. Replacing it and saving it as an example is the only possible solution. Thank you again for supporting the arts in the classroom. It is one thing that keeps students recognizing that they can choose their own interests.","fullyFundedDate":1776127576187,"projectUrl":"project/ukes-not-yuck/9992593/","projectTitle":"Ukes! The dice, pawns, spinners, tops, cars, colored pencils, whisper phones, pocket charts, alphabet letters, and markers have given my kindergarteners hands-on tools that make learning feel like play. Instead of completing simple worksheets, my students now work in small skills groups where they use these materials to practice letters, sounds, counting, turn-taking, and problem-solving. The moment the new resources arrived, their eyes lit up, and they couldn't wait to explore everything. The excitement and engagement in the room increased instantly.\r\n\r\nThese materials have allowed me to design more interactive lessons and behavior-reinforcing activities. Students earn turns with the games during our Walk to Read time, which has motivated them to follow directions, stay safe, and work cooperatively. Even my quieter students are speaking up more because the materials encourage collaboration and teamwork. I've noticed stronger fine-motor skills, better number recognition, and more confidence—especially when they use the spinners, dice, and letter pieces to show what they know.\r\n\r\nOverall, the donation has had an incredibly positive impact on our classroom. The kids are more engaged, more excited to learn, and more motivated to do their best. These resources have added joy, structure, and meaningful hands-on learning to our day, and I am so grateful.
