The use of these incentives has been a game changer for some of my students. One of my students cannot stay focused very well. She is very anxious and seems to constantly need fidgets in order to focus on the assigned work. She uses the keyboard clicking fidget a lot and the feeling of the keys as well as the clicking sound really keeps her body busy which seems to calm her mind. She has been able to focus more and respond more appropriately with correct answers with the use the this fidget. \r\nThe claw machine and the candy that came with it is every students favorite way to earn a positive reinforcement. They enjoy being able to trade the fake coin with a turn at The Claw. One student got 7 pieces of candy, so the others feel they have a goal, however, they are happy and excited for any amount that they get. \r\nThe books that we received are exactly what my lowest group of readers needed. They couldn't wait to start building, and the classroom quickly filled with energy, teamwork, and creativity. We designed marble roller coasters with twists, turns, and drops, then tested how speed, force, and friction worked in real time. The students loved measuring how fast their marbles traveled, adjusting their designs, and cheering each other on as they improved their coasters.\r\n\r\nThis project has been more than just a science lesson—it's been an engineering challenge that encouraged problem-solving and collaboration. My students learned to test ideas, make adjustments, and persevere when something didn't work the first time. One of my favorite moments was when a group of students excitedly discovered that raising the starting ramp increased speed, and they immediately explained it using the vocabulary of force and motion we had been practicing.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be taking what we learned about motion and applying it to new STEM challenges, such as designing simple machines and experimenting with real-world problem-solving tasks. Thanks to your generosity, my students are not only learning about science but also seeing themselves as innovators and future engineers. You've given them the chance to imagine, create, and believe in their own potential—and for that, we are truly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1748992739716,"projectUrl":"project/stem-on-the-tracks-where-physics-meets/9376645/","projectTitle":"STEM on the Tracks: Where Physics Meets Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gomez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5964768_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1539237589271","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/hillsdale"},{"teacherId":3086230,"projectId":9124817,"letterContent":"My students absolutely love using this system to answer questions. With the toy cash register, play money, and a great book about money management, my students dove into hands-on lessons about earning, saving, spending, and making smart financial choices.\r\n\r\nWe created a classroom store where students could spend the \"money\" they earned throughout the year by showing responsibility, kindness, and hard work. The store featured toys and books, and students had to make decisions about what they could afford, how much to save, and when to spend. It was amazing to watch them apply math, reading, and decision-making skills in such a meaningful way.\r\n\r\nReading came alive through this project—not just through the book we read together, which introduced important financial concepts—but also through reading price tags, signs, and creating their own store advertisements. Students also practiced writing by making shopping lists and calculating totals and change in receipts.\r\n\r\nWhat made this extra special was that students took on different roles. Some were in charge of selling items, others received the money and gave change using the cash register. One of my quietest students absolutely thrived as a cashier—confidently counting money, reading totals aloud, and helping customers with a big smile.\r\n\r\nThis project combined literacy, math, social skills, and real-life learning—all in one joyful experience. In a classroom where resources are limited, these have made such a huge difference—not just in keeping things organized but in helping our classroom run more smoothly.\r\n\r\nBefore we had these, my students struggled to keep up with their materials. With no storage at their desks, books and supplies were often piled on the floor or crammed into shared spaces, making transitions between lessons chaotic. But the moment they saw the chair bags, their eyes lit up—they finally had a place of their own to keep their things! Now, instead of wasting time searching for pencils, notebooks, or supplies, they can focus on learning.\r\n\r\nOne moment that really stood out was during a science lesson where students were building prototypes to protect houses from flooding.
