I am the speech language pathologist here at Stansbury El. which is a Title I public school. I believe I have the most beautiful and rewarding career there is. My students come to me to learn how to be successful at sharing and communicate their innermost feelings and needs. All of my students have been classified as having a type of speech/language impairment. This means that for one reason or another, they have difficulty communicating. I have students who aren't understood by parents, teachers, and friends because they can't produce our basic speech sounds. I have other students who stutter or are minimally-verbal that they struggle sharing their needs and ideas. Some of my kids need extra help figuring out how to make their thoughts into sentences and then have conversations. When my students get that "ah-ha" moment, everything changes for them. Help me give my students the joy of being and feeling understood?
