Our students use their composition notebooks to write down their thoughts, reflect on their experiences, and process their feelings. We also use copy paper and trading card sleeves to create art folders for students who finish their work early or need a calming brain break. These activities give students a positive way to express themselves while helping them practice independence and self-regulation.\r\n\r\nIt is rewarding to see students use these resources in ways that meet their individual needs. Something as simple as having the right materials available can make a meaningful difference in helping students feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nHaving these materials available brings a sense of excitement and reassurance to our classroom. Students benefit from knowing they have the supplies they need to complete their work, express their creativity, and take a break when they need one. For students who experience focus or sensory challenges, having accessible and familiar materials can make the classroom feel more supportive and manageable.\r\n\r\nI especially appreciate knowing that students have the tools they need to put their thoughts on paper, explore their creativity, and engage in activities that help them feel calm and focused. These supplies may seem like everyday classroom items, but they serve an important purpose in helping each student feel included, capable, and ready to learn.
